| BELPHEGOR CONTINUE RECORDING
NEW ALBUM |
During their stay in Pärbly/
Sweden, BELPHEGOR shot some studio photos which can
be seen here.
The 3rd out of four recording sessions will take place from
August 21-28, adding the next dimension to their massive soundwall.
BELPHEGOR's ninth opus is being produced and mastered by Peter
Tägtgren.
Helmuth states about the progress:"Just returned from
an impressive Romanian raid, incl visiting Dracula ´s
castle in Bran, alot good memories and an amazing open air.
The Romanian metal crowd greeted us with an amazing presence
again. Anyways, the second Abyss trip is behind us, traveling
one way took us 13 hours! Fukk, but it all was worth it. |

Blown away with the result, and Peter Tägtgren
is an Alien on the controls. In these early stages I
already can say, "hell-goat-fukking-yeah"!!!
I finished the four rhythm guitars in six days and was
more than well prepared. I practiced my ass off in the
last months - but needed longer than expected. This
time we decided for drop C, 443 htz.
Also Marthyn did an outstanding job on the drums, more
double bass parts than ever before!
Besides all of that - the sound is "huge",
not to forget the most important force on my side, Mr.
Serpenth, brought again stellar arrangements and did
the best sounding bass lines yet. This will be the most
epic and monumental BELPHEGOR Werk to date."

NOMINATED FOR THE AUSTRIAN AMADEUS AWARD 2010 |
Death/
Black Metal icons BELPHEGOR are one of the nominated bands,
in category hard & heavy for this years edition of the
National Music Awards. You can cast your ballot once per week
through August 31st. The "Amadeus Awards Ceremony"
will take place in the Wiener Stadthalle on September 16 in
Vienna, Austria.
Here’s what frontman Helmuth has to say: "Alright.
BELPHEGOR entered the media control charts a few times. Now
we are nominated for that mainstream thing, called Amadeus
Award...The paradox of BELPHEGOR being represented in a National
Music Awards ceremony is one which cements our ART as a real
foundation of extreme culture
throughout the world.
Our mission has always been about Extreme Metal. The way of
life. The Anti-Christian sentiment!
Our passion has left a mark on the world and will continue
to cut even deeper on the next album.
It is no surprise after touring extensively worldwide that

| TEN INTENSE SESSIONS IN 44
REHEARSAL DAYS! |
Yesterday BELPHEGOR
ended the last rehearsing for the upcoming studio album.
Serpenth comments: "Its BELPHEGOR to the bone, nine
monumental - epic arrangements. The sound collages have a
haunting - ritualistic atmosphere. Werk IX will be the longest
playing BELPHEGOR album yet."
"Sunday we returned form the awesome Metal Gate Open
Air we shredded in Czech, and went direct back in the rehearsal
bunker. Fukking wicked!!! The last rehearsals turned out fantastic.
We practiced day and night to get every level to the highest
peak"....stated Helmuth. |

TO START RECORDING |
On Friday bass
player Serpenth and session drummer Marthyn fly over to Sweden
and hit the Abyss studios to start the drum recordings on
Sunday. Peter Tägtgren ( Abyss Studios Sweden/ Ludvika
) will be at the helm as producer, the five recording sessions
and mixing/ mastering process should be complete by beginning
of October.
The yet untitled album's release date will be sometime in
early 2011.
BELPHEGOR will let you in on the progress being made and
give you an insight into the recording processes, reports
will be posted on this site on a regular basis. |

| BELPHEGOR TO ENTER THE ABYSS
STUDIOS IN SWEDEN ON JUNE 19. |
Death/ Black Metal titans BELPHEGOR
will enter The Abyss Studios in Pärbly, Sweden on June
19, to start recording the drums. The band has tapped Peter
Tägtgren ( IMMORTAL, CELTIC FROST, HYPOCRISY,... ) to produce
their new, as of yet untitled album.
BELPHEGOR´s main man Helmuth said: "A new challenge.
We re high on fire and totally motivated. I´m stoked to
work together with a dude that needs no instruction, an excellent
musician/ producer. I´m sure that Peter will create a
massive soundwall for our ninth longplayer. We are absolutely
focused on the new album. That's the only reason why we play
only a few open airs this summer.
The masterplan is to record again in 4 - 5 sessions til beginning
of October. Once again letting the tracks slowly take form,
with the songwriting and production reaching a new level of
intensity."
Commented Peter Tägtgren: "I am really looking
forward to producing/ mixing the new BELPHEGOR album.
It's going to be a blast,....u better be prepared."
Bass shredder Serpenth adds: "On Friday we will start
the fifth rehearsal session - day 24 - for the upcoming album,
which lasts til Tuesday. We will fine tune eight compositions
out of nine. It's going to be an epic - brachial BELPHEGOR album,
more shredding, more magick, more of everything." |

BELPHEGOR, have uploaded the video clip for the track
“DER GEISTERTREIBER”
at
this location. The video was shot in Abtenau, Austria
with director
Walter Fanninger. Lead growler and shredder Helmuth stated:
“The song is about the celebration on the
30th of April, better known as the Walpurgis Nacht,
the occult celebrations on the mountain. It’s
the first time that we hired a professional camera team
for a BELPHEGOR video, so the result is beyond amazing.
We rented a cottage three days high in the mountains
in middle of nowhere in the woods. There was nothing
around. Just a lot of excess, alcohol, substances etc.
Was a great intense time!” |

The song was taken from the bands upcoming album "WALPURGIS
RITES - HEXENWAHN" to be released via

| CHAPTER VIII: "WALPURGIS
RITES - HEXENWAHN" ALBUM COMPLETED! |
BELPHEGOR have
set "WALPURGIS RITES - HEXENWAHN" as the title of
the band’s eighth album. The troup has just finished
the fifth recording session, mixdown and mastering process
with producer Andy Classen in stage one studios, Kassel/ Germany
- check some
studio pictures!
Here´s a comment from Helmuth: "With these
nine compositions/ arrangements we continue to piss on the
damn mainstream. Its BELPHEGOR to the highest, the hymns are
extremely varied, more intense and epic than ever, there are
new elements and structures added.
Also, we used some haunting samples here and there, to give
the album a cold and ritualistic feel.
On "WALPURGIS RITES - HEXENWAHN" u will hear my
most fukked up vocals to date, also the lyrical content is
offensive and insane. The witch/ devil concept is amazing
to work with and we used alot of original chants/ incantations
from archaic scripts..."
The Werk will be released in middle of October 2009,
worldwide through Nuclear Blast records. |

title fits perfect to the whole concept, the lyrical themes.
Its typical BELPHEGOR, involving symbology and double meanings.
I have always been fascinated by the idea and atmosphere surrounding
witches, their magic, the insane sabbath/ ceremonies - and
all the obscurity that goes with it.
With the nine sound collages, the verses, artwork we continue
our descent into the depths of musical hell."

a strong tour, each day packed and crowded venues, alot
of die hard demons with passion and fire for Metal attend
these shows. Besides that, it's an honour for BELPHEGOR

We headed back to Canada a couple of days ago and have
played about 14 shows so far. 23 convents are left on
this run.
So be warned friends, better show up early, some start
around 7pm, get your Fleisch in the venues to celebrate
